It could be transposed to the current British situation, though things here may be about ten years behind, and the quality of debate, the settled dialectic with its two-way cancellation, is far less subtle than it appears to be in the States -- even despite the wild haired septuagenarian's re-emergence.

Yeah, getting set up with the Chronicle is kind of a hassle, but in this case it's worth it: this is an excellent commentary.
